How to resist festive season temptation 🎄😋
At Diet Now HQ we understand how difficult it can be to stick to the plan at this time of year with so many not so healthy treats advertised everywhere we look. Whilst the occasional treat is absolutely fine, it’s important not to steer too far away from plan in order to maximise the chances of you reaching your goals. We’ve put together our top tips on how to resist temptation this festive season but still manage to enjoy yourself:
1. Plan plan plan!
It sounds simple but it really does help. Planning your meals for the week ahead of time allows you to have meals in mind which suit your schedule for the week meaning that you will avoid rushed stop offs at takeaways and unnecessary snacking.
2. Stick to the shakes
Having a Diet Now shake for breakfast each day allows you to begin your day with something which is highly nutritious as well as tasty. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day therefore this will set you up for the day as well as being low calorie therefore allowing you to have some guilt-free treats later in the day.
3. Avoid the shops
Take a packed lunch to work and avoid the shops at lunchtime – the temptation to treat yourself to something tasty is always a lot higher when you’re already hungry! You will also save money as making your own low calorie meals is a lot cheaper than a standard meal deal. You can check out the range of Diet Now meals here if you would like something hassle-free!
4. Keep a food diary
If you’re serious about sticking to the plan as much as possible over Christmas it’s a good idea to keep a food diary. Several studies have shown that statistically those who keep food diaries are more likely to be successful in achieving their weight loss goals. It also allows you to look back at what you have eaten in the past few days and see whether you can justify allowing yourself that mince pie!
5. Don’t be too hard on yourself!
As much as the feeling of reaching your goals is extremely satisfying, so is the feeling of enjoying the festive season with your friends and family. Try to avoid over indulging completely however don’t let it stop you enjoying yourself – there is always January after all!
